Area of Expertise

Potato pathology specific to crop production and storage is the platform for research and extension. Emphasis is on control of soil- born diseases in particular powdery scab, Rhizoctonia and nematode associated disorders as factors in tuber quality and marketing. Phytosanitary issues management relative to trade and market access for U.S. potatoes in North America, Latin America and the Pacific Rim is central to direct industry support on local and national levels.
