Outstanding Senior of the Year for 2002-03.

Shannon Suzanne Spears

Shannon Suzanne Spears is a Horticulture
major in the Floriculture
concentration and has a 3.76 grade point average. In 2002 she
was recognized by the Colorado Floriculture Foundation with a $2,000.00
scholarship. She was inducted into Pi
Alpha Xi, the National Floriculture Honor Society and was involved
in the Horticulture
Club.
In addition to being an outstanding student, she was involved in the
department as a valued student employee. She worked with poinsettias
during the 2001 Poinsettia Trials
and proved to be a valuable asset to the team. She learned to be an
effective communicator in the greenhouse. and worked well with the
industry professionals who visited the trials.
Shannon spent one summer working with Dr. Jim Klett in the CSU
Annual Trial Gardens. She worked with the Annual Trial Garden
team to create what was one of the most fantastic floral displays
the City of Fort Collins and CSU campus has ever seen.
Shannon graduated in Fall 2002, and her goal is to own and operate
her own business in Mississippi, using family property. |
