L.A. Days |
This
year's LA Days celebration was a huge success!.
The four-night lecture series, which highlights
shining professionals in the field of landscape
architecture, was attended by students, professors,
professionals, and members of the community.
This year's speaker line-up came from all over
the world. Professor and professional Shunsaku
Miyagi literally traveled half way across the
world from Japan in order to share his ideas and
projects with the large crowds in the new Albert
Yates lecture hall. Other speakers included Pamela
Burton, Walter Hood, and world renowned landscape
architect Peter Walker. This amazing group of
speakers spoke on a wide range of topics including
the pre and post-World War II modern garden and
minimalist gardens in the modern world. In addition,
each speaker shared a brief portfolio of their
works which left all those who attended in a state
of awe.
On behalf of the student chapter of ASLA I would
like to extend out deepest gratitude to the school
of Agricultural Sciences and the Department of
Horticulture and Landscape Architecture for their
continued support of LA Days. -Ivan Kelly, Secretary,
SCASLA |
